Hi, everyone. Welcome to Paris and to Team building and You. In case you don't know me, I'm Will Barclay and I'm in charge of training and development programmes at ProTeams.
We'll start off the morning by briefly considering the following simple questions you can see on the slide. How many teams do you work in? Are these teams successful? Why? Why not? What's your role? Is it always the same? Why? Why not?
Please, take a few moments to think about them...
Thank you. We're going to be exploring your answers to these questions throughout the morning. I'm going to begin with a brief look at the art of team-building, specifically the ideas of the expert Dr Meredith Belbin who I'm sure many of you are familiar with. After that, I'm going to open up the session to a short discussion. Finally, Philipa Sutton will end the morning by leading a short workshop.
Don't worry about taking notes. You should have found a handout on your seat when you arrived. Has everyone got one? Fine.
There'll be plenty of time for questions during the discussion but I'll be happy to take any as we go along.
